On the site: smartcarofamerica.com if you do a search for airhorn or air horn there is a great photo story about how to do this. Italian horn, often used on cycles so it is small, but also 138db so it is LOUD. Had to pull body stuff off so it took about an hour and a half, but to me it was worth it. Bought the horn from Griot (sp?) Garage for $39.95 plus about $11 freight, but can be bought off eBay for about 9 less, if you know what you are looking for. EZ, worked like a plug and play. Go for it!
Donna, http://www.griotsgarage.com and then go to exterior accessories, air horns. Part number 77505 and it sells for $39.95 plus frt. It works and they have a new one, same size that has a different pulse that sounds more "big truck", but adds $30 to that for the same db. Do a search on SCOA for air horns and there are good installation tips. I did the full front panel removal and took me probably 1 1/2hrs. Some are doing it by a partial loosening and working by feel in less time, but with more skinned knuckles.

33 single mom of a 4 year old. We both love the car and it proves a very smooth safe ride for us. I just put a deposit down today for my white passion. But had borrowed a Smart for the day to see how well it would work for me and the little one -- and I guess you could say I was SOLD!
I'm a 49 yo gay male in SF, 5.9" 185 lbs. Bought my smart on 2/23/08, silver on silver, black interior. Since I take underground to work, the smart is just for fun. Have an SUV for bigger jobs! :-(
