Any one use the Kit and any feed back?
Haven't had cause to use it... yet... hopefully never.

Feedback: In the 70's there was a product called "Finelec" (Danish manufacture?) that I first used for motorcycle tyre repairs. It came in a pressure can. Worked well on motorcycle tubed tyres. Like a smart, you don't carry much on a 'cycle. I later carried a car sized can in Honda Civics and used it once "back of beyond" to repair a tubeless tyre. It permanently fixed the leak caused by a nail.

I have a goo type product called "slime" in my bicycle tubed tyres that works well. A nail in one tyre was removed; the fluid came out and the puncture was sealed... still riding on that tyre without patching it.

I once I bought some gooey stuff in a plastic bottle that was supposed to be similar. It was a failure; it merely sprayed a sticky mess around the wheel.

Synopsis: the technology has been around for over 30 years. There are products that work very well; there are some imitations that are useless. I trust smart to have provided the good stuff. It should repair the typical puncture caused by a nail... if you rip a tyre, then call for assistance; don't waste the repair kit. Read the instructions and drive carefully after using the repair kit.

You have me wondering if it's worth putting "slime" into the smart tyres to auto-repair minior punctures.

Have you checked the Smart kit? Hate to have a flat. How long would it take to get back on the road?
It's mostly the time taken to inflate a flat tyre using a small 12V compressor. 15 to 20 minutes. (?)

No need to remove the wheel... and that usually is the problem with conventional spare wheel replacements at the side of the road. The wheel nuts are on too hard for the short wrench that comes with the car... so you spend a while jumping on the wrench trying to lossen the nuts; then jack the wheel up and replace with the spare. Typically allow 30 minutes with frustration.... that's why I started using Finelec.. to avoid the mess of wheel removal and jacking the car up on wet, windy nights.

"slime" have their "Smart Spair 15 minute Emergency Kit" for $29.99 see: http://www.slime.com/index.php?p=view_product&product_id=122 which is possibly an alternate to the smart kit. The major difference is that the smart kit screws the can of sealant onto a fitting on the pump and so pumps the sealant into the tyre. The slime kit requires valve removal and manually squirting the sealant into the tyre.

We don't get the tire pressure warning device. For those that do: whether or not they remain functional after using the smart repair kit is a question asked before, but no one has the answer yet?

Every car puncture I have ever had has been from nails. All these nail punctures have been slow leaks, with the nail visible in the tyre. The tyre is usually found to be flat after being parked for a few hours. These punctures are ideal for the smart repair kit.
Do you have the air sensor in you car?
okay. its a stupid question. is there a spare tire for the smart fortwo?
You can buy one. It dose not come with a spare.
I guess if you are going to travel away from home it might not be a bad idea to carry a spare. Around town Smart has a kit to repair the tire.
The kit is under the passenger foot carpet area and dose come with a 12 volt inflate pump.
you my friend are a smart guru. pun intended.
Just here to learn from each other.
i am getting the smart as soon as i can. i took it for a test drive. i fell in love. it wanted me to go faster through the twists an turns. it was extremely responsive. i dont know if it the fact that i currently drive a 92 dodge caravan. but i definatly want that car. badly. im getting the passion coupe with only the power steering option. this is because im modding the car myself, and i dont wanna waste the money on stuff that im just gonna upgrade anyways. the other reason is that it might make it ship to me quicker.
