It dose not take long to get done. I sent my ECU to them with next day mail. The ECU was programed and sent back to me by next day express mail. Worth doing the remap and enjoying the Smart even more.

Unleash the 'Beast' Thanks to Veloce Performance
I got my ECU back from Veloce. Put it back in the 451 and turned it on. The motor started up with a nice deep growl sound. Took it out for a test drive and noticed the difference right away. Much more power in all gears. Faster gear changes. From 0 to 60 MPH strong pull. Coasting at 30 and accelerating to 60 and above the car pulls strong. 70 MPH comes and goes fast. Veloce has turned the 999 cc motor to a 666 little Devil. Love the RPM's and exhaust sound. Had a hard time parking the car because its just so much more fun to drive. This is a must do upgrade for 451 owners.

you know i can somewhat understand the need for money. i just sold my 06 mustang gt with 565 hp on the crank, when id go in for a complete dyno and tune id be looking at $300. i just got word that these remaps are running $695, this to me is right along side of NOT for pretty obvious reasons. since im already ranting id put this in the same catagory as the shop selling shoulder belt pads for $50 when the ebay ones are only $13 shipped. from china, so what? his are made in usa? right. still embrodered, still padded, how long are you really going to use the silly pad for anyways that would offset that kind of charge. NOT. personally im tired of the extra taxes that seem to be put on these little gems , what about a sponsired vendor somewhere that will actually sell something reasonable to the forum members. i dont believe that Veloce Perfromance is a forum vendor, his product sounds good butt...

I am pricing everything I do for the 451, and re-mapping the ECU is not one of them. I am adding bolt on upgrades that come off in case I need to make a trip to the dealer. Yesterday I saw another customer come get the car from SERVICE bc one of the engine sensors had to be replaced. Once the warranty expires, then I will experiment. My 2 cents.

We write the software so that it remains invisible at the dealer level. This will keep your warranty in tact. So there isn't a need to be putting things on and taking them off, just for a visit to the dealer.

...And for the Mustang gent who likes a bargain. We all do. But, if you needed surgery, would you pick the doc who took coupons? Or the best you could find?

Likewise, you could buy a replica Rolex for $50, or the real thing for $10K. They both keep time, but which is really better? We put allot of R&D into all of our work, and the SMART is part of our family. Our MB/AMG tunes outperform all the major players at a great price, which is allot more than what we charge for our SMART tuning. In the long run, after the money is spent, it's quality and enjoyment that you remember, and that's what you get with Veloce Performance.

i can appreciate what you do for the little gems but heres a thought. i had a 06 mustang that i paid 27 for and the tune was 300, i had a 98 c5 that i paid 28 for and the tune was 300, different shop. your doing big dollar mercedes that sell well into 5 and 6 digets and you charge 695, not bad, i thought i read that on your web page. but these cars list for 11,5 to 15,5, nothing compared to the real nice mercedes that you tune for the same amount. by the looks of it i will never have a veloce tune, what i dont have i wont miss. and..
yes im fortunate enough to have decent medical coverage, its kaiser , they are fine AND affordable.
thanks anyways, ill have to pass on this.

The engine is run by a computer (ECU) that is programed to run the engine at a certain level. Veloce will reprogram the computer (ECU) to get more power from the engine. This ECU remap will open up the hidden power of the engine. Veloce is the only company in U.S.A that dose remap of the ECU and at half price compared to a company in Germany or England. My Smart hits 90 MPH like a bullet feels like a Turbo engine. I am thinking of getting a radar because I am going to fast.
