451 smart fortwo

I am just amazed that how many ways you can Spice your Smart 451.
At our last get together 22 cars showed up. Each car modified in the reflection of what their owner wanted. Modified wheel, interior, exterior wheel bolts and decorations.

I give credit to who ever came up with this install. Would love to do it to my car.

That's nice - I know where I'm putting mine...

kind of high up, i'd like it closer to the top of the dash, line of sight with the road. they have GPS type mounting arms for SG2. use a GPS dash mount circle. it'll look a little "corny" but not trashy, keep it just above the steering wheel.

originally, i was gonna install one under my DIN radio, but i just got a "radio 10" (there goes the neighborhood!).

I am having a hard time finding the right spot for my Scan/G.

one seller on e-bay has a GPS type arm, flexable, with a suction mount, so it could be mounted on the windshield or dash, you'll have a bit of cord from the dash top to the mount point.

maybe running the cable from the AC/stereo console, near where the pod tach would emerge would minimize cable exposure, just noodling this now... my best thought now is a central mount, on top of the AC/stereo console with the flex arm close to the top right of the steering wheel. an SG2 is not useful if it's not easily seen while driving, keeping it close to "line of sight" is best. safety first!

Agreed!

For the past few months I've been running with the Scangauge mounted on top of the steering column shroud so I can see it at the same time as the speedo and main instrument cluster... that's on the Forester. I simply could not find a better place and it is recommended by ScanGauge. It works really well.

On the smart... dunno yet.... my car should be here week after next. Hooray! I may have to rethink the location, but first choice will be on top of the steering column; second choice under the radio; third maybe between the clock and tacho pods... anywhere but above the rear view mirror... not a good place to be checking dynamic data readouts... maybe at 5' 8" I'm too short to get the picture of the high mount?

22? I don't think I saw that many at the dealer... and only 3 on the road in the last 6 months.

....we all have seen the many mods available for this urban speedster...get in ..get $h!t done around town and back home before they even miss me....and getting a whole lot of stares while doing it......I was going to say "priceless" but then it hit me....it comes at a price ....so if you are like me, give me time... and the $$$$$ will make his way in.
...seen two others in 3 month...and at the rate they are selling I think it be a while before you start seeing more and more in your neck of the woods....got to start somewhere and wheels/spring/shocks are high on my list of first mods....and that computer will look pretty cool right behind the center pod in a pod of it's own with rounded corners
