I filled up my tank about a week ago and have traveled 74 miles and the tank still reads full. It has never done this before and I am wondering if I have a concern or do other owners have the same issue with the gauge dropping bars with a little more mileage. I would appreciate anyone's input regarding this issue.

This information is good to know. Hopefully, the smart engineers will come up with a retro-fit or correct this issue in future models. You are correct, a fuel level sensor is not rocket science. Thank you for your input.
i think some people from smart/mercedes actually monitor sites like this. mercedes is a quality conscious company. i think they might care about what us little "troll" consumers think about things...they killed that horrific "orange" RED and are giving us a REAL RED for 2009, shame they will kill yellow for 2009, but i'm sure yellow will be back in 2010. it's too damned popular, yellow on black is a cute little bumble bee!
Just traveled 109 miles and the gauge is showing two bars down so I guess things are back to normal. It would be nice if I only used two gallons of gasoline to travel this distance but I doubt it since the fuel gauge doesn't appear to be accurate.
