Permalink Reply by Leon on March 18, 2011 at 7:19pm I still have this problem, even after I cleaned the motor plug. Every time it doesn't work I have to go there and shake the plug.
I'm tired and ready to solder it.

Permalink Reply by Bill Navarre on April 6, 2011 at 7:53am Chris....................just had my blower fan replaced by the dealer last Saturday. They gave me a choice of brand new unit for $380.00 or rebuilt unit for $100.00. Asked them to replace it under warranty since the problem started while the car was in warranty. They declined. When I told them Smart USA and this website
had several complaints by various owners they agreed to provide a rebuilt unit for $50.00 and 60 day warranty.
It took them less than 15 minutes to change it out!
Permalink Reply by Smart42 on June 28, 2012 at 12:00pm I have been frustrated with the blower working intermitently. Its been doing it under warranty but now that our dealer (Smart of Bloomington, MN) has left my nearest dealer support is a 5 hour drive.
Is it the motor?
Is it the fuse?
Is it the connections?
I have 18,900 miles on my 2008 and I have not had to change anything until this year.
Permalink Reply by PCL Smart Owner on March 17, 2013 at 2:03pm I'm having the same issue, is there any place that we can find out how to rebuild this ourselves? Removing it is extremely easy and as a temporary fix I can tap on the motor unit and it will get going, but this fix won't last forever, and it will definately go completely sooner or later. Any and all advice on the subject is welcome.
Go over to: www.smartcarofamerica.com and there are several tutorials on how to disassemble and clean/lube the blower motor.
