451 smart fortwo

It is time to upgrade the front disc brakes.
A word of warning for those 451 owners who use Dentures please be careful upgrading to S-Mann discs because anything not tied down will fly out through the front windshield.
The stopping distance of a regular smart over 120 feet from 60mph. After the upgrade under 70 feet. The gforce during braking will give the seat belts a workout but what a change.

Kanna (as in cannot) be serious:

Besides the question of why you feel the need to stop so much quicker...
What tires are you running?
Have you disbled the EPS?
Does it skid?
Does the rear end lift up? (Flip?)
Have you worked on the rear drums to balance the discs?
Have you increased the size of the rear stoplights?

and finally.... Have you been rear ended yet?

LOL... I usually outrun trucks and SUVs, not stop quick in front of them... they all have massive bull bars and smashing a smart would be seen as sport if given an excuse. Hood ornament or road kill...

The following is a list of changes I have made. The stopping distance was important to me as I do drive fast.

The Rear drum brakes I did not touch as the computer adjusts the braking for every wheel independently.

The ESP works fine and in very sharp fast turns takes over braking each wheel as needed.

List of my Upgrades
1 Remap ECU Veloce 10% gain
2 Exhaust more HP gain
3 Air filter extra HP gain
4 Aerodynamic upgrades (Brabus)
5 Tires and wheels (Front 195/45x16 Rear 215/40x16)
6 Horns dual from Hella
7 H7 Brighter 100 watt Hella bulbs front beams
8 Keeping the 451 washed, waxed and tires inflated to proper pressure (Nitrogen filled)
9 Scan gauge a must check the Scan gauge website
10 Driver's side "blind spot" mirror. (Important Upgrade)
11 Goodridge G-Stop Brakeline Kit

I should indicate that I am preparing the 451 for a Turbo.
The Turbo should take the 451 to 115 HP made by an American Company here in United States.

If you need to stop even faster don't forget to use your Twin super tone Hellas, @ 118db they should give you an extra 4-5 feet of stopping distance....LOL useful in reverse too!
