Here goes again...
I like my car but this is getting ridiculous..
The Transmission needs to be replaced and Smart/MB just told me
that they don't provide a loaner car at all..they said it is not part of warranty.....plus the "repair" could take one or more than one day.....accordingly to Smart North Houston.
I don't know what to do now. I was really excited waiting for the car..but now I am very dissapointed after finding out a different failures with the car...
It shouldn't be so difficult...
First the rear view mirrors vibrate while driving.
Second the Check engine light came on......
Third one..the transmission make some weird noises while
shifting from 1st to 2nd gears
Ahhh and Four one...the shifter got "locked up".......


I don't know what you guys doing out there, but I think I got most of the deffects everybody has been comenting out there...

If everything continues this way I would probably have to file a complaint thru LEMON LAW to see if I can get my money back..

I do feel sorry for you and I think that I would be taking it (the Smart) back and parking it in their showroom, not through the door that it came out of, but the main showroom window and maybe then they might understand that you are not very happy with the situation. After all its people like you that keep these ar--hole's at Smart North Houston in a job and the sooner they realise that the better.
Don't buy any more Smarts from Smart North Houston untill our Member FABIO gets some sort of satisfaction................

our dealer offers loaners through a national rental car agency... its not a smart but it is a loaner... free of charge on warranty issues. I think you need to write a nice LONG letter to Smart USA and let them know of how this particular dealer is dealing with you.

I know it is a hassle to deal with. I didn't think I had to go back and beg for a loaner..when I just got a new car.
Anyway, I went back to the dealership on Saturday after taking the car Friday and not having a loaner.
The result! I got a Loaner after short discussion with Smart North Houston Manager. But after all he just told me that
SmartUsa don't provide loaners...what is that??? so, should I take this is only as a charity for the moment??
what if the problem comes back!! No loaner because I didn't buy extended warranty??..what is this.?? I hope SmartUSA is following this website to see the amount of complaints the are getting...and not a solution yet for many of them!!.
For now at least I have a car to drive from Saturday to Monday I guess..I will keep you all updated.

By The Way...
Remember the brand specialist about that loaner car issue whenever you are going to get your "brand new Smart"...
'cause apparently they supposed to tell me right when I got the car...But they just forgot....:o(...

Hi, so far so good with mine (170 miles). Sorry for your issues. Was wondering when (milage wise) did you start to notice the m any issues with your smart?

extended warranties are done by 3rd parties and have nothing to do with you getting a loaner or not. I understand you not getting a "C" class loaner but an economic rental car at no cost to you should be a given!

That's what I thought too...I wasn't asking for a C Class car or so...I was just expecting having a ride for the days I wouldn't have a car...Anyway I got a renta car finally. a Nissan Altima.
Well, I got my car tonite and I had a ride already...I haven't heard that rattle sound coming from transmission again...but now I got a new noise...it is a vibrating noise..don't know what. I'll check it tomorrow on my way to work and try to find out.
I know is coming from the back as well..but it sounds like it is something loose that vibrates just when I start moving the car forward...
Hope it is nothing major again...
I just don't like to take the car back again to the dealer..It is not a pleasant experience for me..
I will probably change from Smart North Center to Sugarland Center...and check the service out there.

I'll keep you QAP...

can you be more specific as to where the the rattle is emanating from? is it a plastic, metal, sound? give us the info and we might be able to narrow it down for you.
