Yes, I did try driving it manually and very carefully, but it did not make any difference, so I drive it in auto mode now. Having spoken with some friends who have the same car as myself, it would appear that there is a chance that the fuel consumption will improve as it loosens up. Maybe I need to go on some motorway journeys!

Yes, my car is the turbo version. Very disappointing fuel consumption and I know from reading the comments on various websites that I am not alone. I have over 2,200 miles on the clock now and I am still only getting 38mpg, which is nowhere near what the manual says it should be.
