I do not belive what i am reading, I have been driving a Smart for the past 10 years in Italy and have never had a problem like this or heard of one. When I go to the mountains in the winter I leave my Smart for 2 or 3 months at a time in the garage…
If i was you I would buy a bike...........................................................
Mine has done 4300 km's, oil and filter changed at 3000km's, Smart Filter + Castrol SLX 0-30.
Next change due at 8000 km's, done the same with all my Smarts and never had a problem in
the last 10 years.

I am sorry but for me if you want AC you should sell your 2008 pure and buy a new Smart with AC. In the long run it would be the most inexpensive way to go.

Mine came with it fitted as standard, if you brake hard at over 70kmh your hazard/indicator lights flash automatically.
I cant be sure but i think its law on all new cars in europe, its like it on my BMW as well........
