Why do you love your smart?

I'm new to the smart world and I am learning about the smart. I was wondering why you love your smart?

I have 50,000 miles on my passion. The ventilating fan has not worked properly for about 30,000 miles. No warranty coverage. They want $350 plus labor to replace it. Smart knows of the problem as the dealer told me to "Kick" it to get it to run intermitently! Now it wont go at all. Anyone else had the problem? What's a better solution?

Road Tax and Insurance

I have just purchased my very first "Smart Passion" first registered in 2005. I live in th UK so don't know any comparison of Road Tax or Insurance on these cars elsewhere in the world. Because the UKs road tax is calculated mostly on co2 emissions, the great majority of Smart Cars of my model fall into the £35.00 a year bracket meaning they emit below 120g/kmof co2. My Smart however seems to have 1g/km co2 more than the majority, meaning…

Tire Wear & Roof Checking

Is anyone else having these problems?

Tires - I recently had to replace my front tires at 20,000 miles due to cupping and excess wear on the inside. I had a four wheel alignnment performed ($99.95!?) which showed the front end only slightly out on one side, not nearly enough to have caused the wear. Could this be a design or specification problem?

It happened. My nightmare. My Smart car, Maxwell, was hit.

Elizabeth

I took my purple smart car to a hand car wash in LA a couple weeks ago. It was the first smart car to go through their car wash. I could tell because the workers didn't know how to handel it exactly. They poked fun at how small it was and acted like they could pick it up. It was amusing. I think that the next time a smart car goes through their car wash they will not be so surprised. I'm just glad I was the one to pop their smart car cherry. ;-P

Tampa Smart Center

I just had my first flat tire, true to my luck it busted the rim at the same time. I though I was extremely fortunate because it happened in Tamps 4 Miles from the Smart Center, boy was I wrong. I guess I'm a little spoiled because I've dealt with the Orange Park (JAX) location and the facility Is impeccable and the service top notch but Not all Mercedes dealerships are built the same.

A lot of hot air

Apologies if this has already been discussed (tell me where if it has).

Our Passion now starts up with heat coming from the vents and air-con not working at all. It did it last year and the garage reset the software, Apparently this is now a recognised fault which smart are looking to find a proper solution to. Advised today that a "temporary fix" is to switch off the ignition and then on again which breaks the power to the aircon sensor software and makes it work OK. IT DOESN'T

We are having a road rally for smart car owners. It's gonna be sooooooo much fun!! October 10 @ 8:00. Rally is at Rallye Motors smart car center, 1600 Northern Boulevard, Roslyn, NY. Launched my new smart car blog, lovemysmartcar.com + bought a house

Changes come in lumps don't they? No sooner do I launch lovemysmartcar.com (my blog about the smart car experience in America) then my lovely husband and I buy a house in Raleigh. Get this, the garage is small, but my smart fits it perfectly! Haha!

smarty at the workshop

I'm stuck with a dinky older model smart with no extras as the courtesy car. And it smells! I miss my smart already! how it's home tomorrow from the workshop so I can give it a hugeee hug and appreciate it all the more.
