i used something similar on my old metro, my smart warranty is up tomorrow (i got my smart 1/21/08) so i may try something soon, i'm getting my 3rd oil change in a week or two. smart doesn't recommend additives, but they didn't decide on mobil 1 0W-40 until after the first smarts arrived (it wasn't in the first owners manual)
I hear ya, I just hit 20k miles on mine and just called them to get a quote on extending my warranty. But if they close down what good is a warranty if there is no place to take the car. Weston is the next closest one, but even living out in west Kendal not too far from Krome ave it's still a pretty good haul to get there. And if they close, we will all be screwed here in S Fla. I agree with some of the other comments in the forum, Smart needs to advertise and get the word out and let ppl know they exist.
I bought mine in Coral Gables, drive by all the time, and had the same feeling you did....that the days might be numbered. With dealers closing in PA and CA, Smart needs to counter any thought that they might be contracting.
