smart Parking Lot Questions

As with every smart owner, I was deluged with questions about my car every time I parked it. Often, it would take 15+ minutes before I could leave. This is to be expected as people want to know. I solved much of this peoblem by creating an "Information Sheet" (copy attached) that I put in a plastic sleeve and place on the dash so it's viewable through the windshield. From my observations, many, many people read this and it has reduced my "lot time" by at least 75%. And I've received "Thank Yous" (even notes under the wipers) from many people.

Enjoy

that's awesome~! though, in my neighborhood, people would see that information as an invitation to steal my car or objects in it. i'm just going to have to learn to tell people to go to hell politely. =P

not bad, maybe i'll post one in mine, but most encounters for me are like 5 minutes or less. the enthusiastic feedback from questioners tends to build me up, i had a metro for 10 years, slapped 15" mag wheels on it, was asked things about it twice in 10 years.

i'd still like a commision program from smart for selling these things! people get "droopy drawers" now when i tell them wait time is 2010. but i tell them about orphans as well. no car sells like the smart! every other car, you can drive off the lot with! i see vettes with sale signs parked at the front of new car lots, they AIN'T MOVIN!, smarts...move as fast as they can make them!

I haven't had that problem cause the smart has been around here for years now. It's a shame really because I would have fun with it and tell people it did all sorts of crazy things that it didn't. Just for fun and to see the confusion on their face

that's my new plan. just make up outrageous shit out of the blue sky and tell it to them "i've had this car 5 months, filled it up 3 times, gone almost 4000 miles and can't remember which side i fill it on!"

What a super idea! I copied your sheet verbatim and plan to do the same. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Dave, I was wondering if you could post a second version of this, accept change the part about the tridion safety cell to read "silver on this car" instead of "black". That way we could use it for both cars.

Thanks

Will do. Look for the post shortly.

unfortunately, my whole smart is black, so the tridion safety cell is "hidden" , who gives a crap about thinking it's safe, i know it's safe and i'm the clown driving it. that's all that matters.

when questioned, i tell them the smart is a rolling "roll cage", then knock on the steel tridion cell then the plastic body panels. you tell them it's made by mercedes and that halts all further questions.

Greetings,

I've been meaning to copy my window sticker w/o the actual price I paid, so you just saved me the time, Thanks - Happy motoring!

Can you post the word document for this to allow others to edit it without bothering you for the different colors or installed features?
